PAUWELS\' OSTEOTOMY FOR FEMORAL NECK NON-:union:
During a period of nine years (1982-1991), Pauwels' osteotomy was performed for 38 cases of femoral neck non-:::union:::. 32 led to consolidation with one osteotomy (84%) and 6 failed (3 needed revision (92%), one died and two were lost to follow-up). The length of follow-up was 2-11 years, the average time of non-:::union::: 12 months (ranging from 4 months to 13 years) and the mean patien...
متن کاملDeformable models for laparoscopic surgery simulation
This paper introduces a method for handling deformation in interactive, real time computer graphics simulations which involve deformable objects and require a high degree of visual realism. Our proposal, the oirrua[ structure, is a “divide and conquer” approach, which combines anovel physical model with a geometric modelling utilizes the theory of elasticity and Newtonian mechanics, applied by ...
متن کاملBlood cultures for evaluation of early postoperative fever after femoral neck fracture surgery.
PURPOSE To evaluate the utility of blood cultures in the assessment of early postoperative fever in hip fracture patients with no other indicators of sepsis. METHODS 101 blood cultures were drawn on postoperative days 0 to 5 to investigate 84 febrile episodes in 31 women and 30 men (mean age, 80 years) whose body temperature measured via the tympanic route was ≥ 38 ºC. Culture results of thes...
متن کاملVolumetric Deformable Models for Simulation of Laparoscopic Surgery
In this paper we present a method for solving both problems of force feedback and real time deformations of virtual organs, especially needed for surgical simulators. Our method is based on the linear elasticity theory with a preprocessing algorithm which entails real time performances. We have applied this technique to a liver model derived from a complete anatomical representation.
متن کاملEffects of anticoagulants on outcome of femoral neck fracture surgery.
PURPOSE To review records of 330 patients who underwent surgery for femoral neck fractures with or without preoperative anticoagulation therapy. METHODS Medical records of 235 women and 95 men aged 48 to 103 years (mean, 81.6; standard deviation [SD], 13.1) who underwent surgery for femoral neck fractures with or without preoperative anticoagulation therapy were reviewed. 30 patients were on ...
